WORKPLACE EVENTS

Kristin speaks regularly in workplace settings, both in-person and virtually, coordinating with ERGs and Department Heads to curate conversations best suited for the group. She has spoken at dozens of organizations including Hyatt, Virgin Galactic, Bloomberg, Genpact, Toyota, Lazard Asset Management, and The NCUA (National Credit Union Administration).

Examples of past talks include

For Parents & Caregivers of LGBTQ+ Youth
Here, Kristin will open up an educational and honest conversation specifically for those who are parents and loved ones of LGBTQ young people. She will begin by defining and discussing lesser understood sexualities such as bisexual, asexual, and queer and exploring the meaning of gender identities such as transgender, cisgender, and non-binary. The conversation will then address the best ways to be an ally when you are a parent or loved one of an LGBTQ kid and center on the most commonly asked questions she has encountered during her time working in LGBTQ family communities, as well as incorporate questions from the audience!

Being an Ally in the Workplace
Specifically focused on workplace settings, Kristin will discuss some basic definitions of terms and give an overview of the main challenges facing LGBTQ communities, tying this to the simple and accessible ways we can work together to create workspaces that are safer and more welcoming to LGBTQ employees.

Storytelling as a Means to Action + Learning
In this format, Kristin speaks about her own journey of coming out to her loved ones and how that led to her ongoing work helping families and the larger community to better understand sexual identity and gender. Pulling on lessons that she has learned in both her personal life and over the past decade of work in LGBTQ communities, she will open a dialogue on how best to support friends, coworkers, family (and ourselves!) in journeying toward a more open and honest understanding of sexual identity and gender.

Question & Answer Format
In this format, ERGs will source questions from employees (often anonymously) which Kristin will then use to direct and inform a talk specific to the concerns held in the company’s own community!
